How Many ways to validate a field In Business Central.

Hello Readers,

Today in this blog we would discuss about in how many ways we can Validate a Field. In Business Central we are having lot of option to do it. So, let’s get started here one by one.

  1. Logic on OnValidate() trigger of Table Field.

  1. Logic on OnValidate() trigger of Page Field.
  1. In Event Subscriber on onBeforeValidateEvent and OnAfterValidateEvent of Table Type Object.

  1. In Event Subscriber on onBeforeValidateEvent and OnAfterValidateEvent of Page Type Object.

Now we’ll create another project and give the dependency of our existing app into that.

Dependencies added into the second Project.

  1. In second app we’ll create another codeunit for eventsubscriber and will be able to call same event for same Table fields.

  1. Now in second app we’ll subscribe event for page fields.

  1. In Table Extension by Modifying field we can call the OnValidate() trigger.

Hope Above write up will help you to get more idea about field validation.
